Trial Watchers chronicles the stories of true crime fans and WHY they're so passionate about the topic, sometimes putting their lives on hold to follow every twist and turn of court proceedings.
This anthology of short stories is co-authored by Neil Gordon and features never-before-seen updates on his experiences with former Colleton County Clerk of Court Becky Hill.
The book also highlights the work of internet sleuths and tells the stories of those seeking unresolved justice through trial watching and consumption of true crime content in books, podcasts, TV shows, chat rooms, and more.
10% of book royalties will benefit different crime victims' charities each quarter.
And, for $10 a month, you can join our "Trial Watchers Crew," and enjoy new content monthly.

This is a site for true crime fans, about true crime fans!
Our community is made up of true crime fans who travel to trials (or want to), listen to podcasts/watch court programming, are members of true crime Facebook groups, and actively engage in discussions on different platforms.
Some of you even attend true crime conventions and have a passion for solving the cases through Freedom of Information Requests and other research methods.
Many true crime fans profiled in our book feel a personal connection to crime victims, family members, and those accused due to situations that have happened in their lives.
Melissa Gordon is a professional photographer who became a true crime fan when she traveled from Augusta, GA to Walterboro, SC to witness the Alex Murdaugh trial.
She initially thought her purpose was to attend a trial that interested her and to possibly produce a coffee table book of the Low Country.
What she discovered was an opportunity to heal from 25-year-old wounds caused by a family tragedy.
Her aunt’s husband was an attorney, who, like Alex Murdaugh, was convicted of murder in the late 1990s.
His trial and conviction left her feeling anxious, ashamed, and confused.
Because of those life-altering experiences, Melissa felt empathy for Murdaugh's family members during the trial.
Her husband, veteran journalist and publisher Neil Gordon, became a true crime fan after Melissa’s chance encounter with now-former Clerk of Court Becky Hill.
It led to an opportunity for Neil to co-write Becky’s controversial memoir.
The Gordons are teaming up with other "true crimers" to write an anthology book of short stories related to past and current trials.
This collection of stories is entitled, "TRIAL WATCHERS: America’s Obsession with Murder, Fraud, and True Crime from OJ Simpson and Casey Anthony to 'Miss Becky' and Alex Murdaugh."
They're collaborating with National Emmy Award-winning journalist and media consultant, Mike Petchenik, who has known the Gordons for decades; Neil was Petchenik's first news director.
Mike enjoyed a successful broadcasting career that spanned more than 20 years, including a 12-year stint at WSB-TV in Atlanta where he covered some of the region's highest-profile trials.
